Chef Sungani is a celebrated culinary artist with nearly two decades of experience in the gastronomic world. His career began with formal culinary training in South Africa, where he refined his skills under the guidance of Sven Niebremer, a 2-star Michelin chef, and Keith Frisley, a Gold Medalist. These formative years have shaped his approach to crafting dishes that seamlessly blend traditional techniques with modern innovation.
Nestled within Chef Sungani’s private residence, SUNGANI Restaurant offers an exclusive 22-seater fine dining experience unlike any other in Zambia. Located on his terrace, with folding doors opening to an open-plan kitchen, guests are invited into an intimate, interactive setting where the art of gastronomy meets storytelling.
Inspired by Zambia’s rich culinary heritage, Chef Sungani curates seasonal tasting menus that transform locally sourced ingredients into world-class, Michelin-level cuisine. Having worked at Zambia’s only Relais & Châteaux properties, Chef Sungani has elevated local produce into internationally recognized cuisine. Each of our 16 to 17 meticulously crafted courses is designed to take you on a journey of flavor, texture, and story. The ingredients are sourced within a 100km radius or from select regions across Zambia, ensuring the freshest, most sustainable ingredients are at the heart of each dish.
